Atelier 6000 Print Studio
Atelier 6000 (A6) is a studio-workshop where nationally acclaimed artists and students create limited edition hand-pulled prints and handmade books. In a increasingly digital art world, Atelier 6000 provides space, instruction, tools and materials for artist-teachers and students to make and develop works of art exclusively by hand. A6 is foremost a place for learning. It embodies the spirit of the traditional atelier, or studio-workshop, where students learn directly from master artist teachers.

Master printmaker, Pat Clark, and numerous guest artists-teachers offer all levels of classes and workshops in printmaking, drawing, design, the book arts and art collecting. All of our classes are offered through our association with Arts Central/Art Station, and complement, rather than compete with, existing art classes in the region.
We also offer open studio time for people just seeking technical expertise or desiring to work on their own. Guest artists come to A6 not only to teach, but to further their own learning. We specialize in collaboration with artists who are exploring unique challenges in printmaking or publishing an edition of prints. Roberta Lavadour and Elise Wagoner are scheduled as guest artists for the Fall 2008 - Winter 2009 term.
New for Fall 2008 - Winter 2009 are ArtTalk at A6 on the second Thursday of each month or when the Artist in Residence are teaching. Free, although a $5 donation is suggested.
New for Fall 2008 - Winter 2009 is Art in Action :: For ARTS Sake featuring artists at work in print and book arts at the A6 studio on First Fridays. Come observe for free!
We also invite collectors and exhibitors to meet with artists to view their work or see the archive of prints and handmade books created by resident artists and guests.
OUR MISSION
- To provide classes, workshops, and lectures for artist-teachers and students pursuing printmaking and the book arts.
- To enable well-known artists to produce collectible handmade prints and specialty books for their own or other's collections.
THE STUDIO Our brand new, 2000 square-foot studio has three presses for plate lithography, etching, and monotype, as well as a letterpress. We are dedicated to sustainable practices including working with non-toxic and less-toxic materials. We are located in the Old Mill District at 389 SW Scalehouse Court, Suite 120. Phone number: 330-8759. Download map
ARTIST CONTRACT PRINTING Artists may contract with A6 to "pull" and edition. Artists who wish to pull an edition must make a reservation with a Master Printmaker to ensure studio availability. An artist may also contract with a Master Printmaker to print an edition for them. The edition is printed after the artist approves the "artist's proof." In either case, artists provide their own paper and supplies and pay by the hour for press time.
