There are lots and lots of art offerings for kids at the Art Station in the Fall-Winter term. The current class listings include classes from September 2008 through February 2009. Check the calendar below for classes that best suit your child. For more information about a specific class, including lesson plans, click on the name of the class.

Art Start Ages 2 – 3
Got Art? Get it here, especially for those who are just beginning their lifelong journey in art. We'll dive into the basic joys of making art: squishing clay, splashing paint, drawing, cutting, gluing and more. Parents and caregivers learn tips and techniques for fostering children's artistic abilities. Best thing is, the mess stays with us, and you and your child take home their first masterpieces! No children under two allowed in the classroom during class. Projects and themes vary each session. 4 weeks. $27/ 3 weeks. *$21 Instructor: Jamie Chapman

Awesome Art Workshops Ages 6 - 8 & 8 - 11
School is out for the day and it’s time for some AWESOME ART fun! Art centers will feature paint, print, collage and more so you can be creative and experiment in a variety of media. Dress for ART fun and bring a healthy sack lunch. Projects vary each session. Supervised lunch period between morning and afternoon workshops is available for a fee of $5. All the animals in the zoo are jumping up and down for you! Learn to use clay studio tools and a variety of clay construction techniques in this “wild” class. Multimedia Drawing (Homeschool) Ages 8 – 11
Have a blast adding your own twist to artwork as you discover new approaches to art making! Experiment with a variety of media that work and play well together; work in pen/ink, graphite, pastel, watercolor, and colored pencil… sometimes together, sometimes separately. Design, color, technique and sources of inspiration will also be covered. Teen Clay Ages 12 - 17
Wedge, center, pull a cylinder, and trim. (Find out what that means and how to do it!) Learn the fundamentals of ceramics in a state-of-the art clay studio! Gain skills on the potter’s wheel, learn to hand build and glaze. Beginner to Intermediate level. Projects vary. How to Register, Cancellations and Refunds/Credits

- Online: register right now! (9/8/08) ***We are still working out "snags" with the Paypal interface. If you do not recieve a confirmation email from PayPal for the class fees, please contact us at 617-1317.***
- By Mail: 313 SW Shevlin-Hixon Dr., Bend, OR 97702. Send a check payable to Arts Central or note Visa/Mastercard information on the registration form.
- In Person: Stop by the Art Station during office hours (Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm)
- By Telephone: Call 541.617.1317 (for Visa/Mastercard holders). Call the Art Station during office hours to provide the necessary information.
- By Fax: Fax your registration form to 541.617.1439 (for Visa/Mastercard holders only). Please call to confirm receipt.
LATE CLASS ENROLLMENT
Please call the Art Station if you would like to join a class that has already started.
CONFIRMATION
For on-line registration and fax registration we will send an email confirmation. If you would like a written confirmation, include a SASE with your registration form or an email address. If you have been wait-listed or if there is a problem, we will notify you.
ABSENCES
As a courtesy to your teacher, please notify the office in advance of an absence. Missed class/camp/workshop due to student absence is not made up. Classes are not pro-rated due to vacations, conflict, etc.
CANCELLATION
If a class should fail to meet the minimum enrollment before the first scheduled meeting, it will be cancelled. If a class or workshop is cancelled a full refund will be made.
REFUNDS/CREDITS
Refunds/credits are readily granted if notified 7 days prior to the beginning of class. Credits (minus a 15% processing fee) will be granted if notified less than 7 days prior to the beginning of class. Credits are good for one year from the date of issue. NO credits or refunds will be issued when notified 24 hours or less from the start of a the class.
